One of the few things in a survival setting that can put smile on your face is a good fire and
and a good nights sleep ,
when looking for a place to set up camp if there is water close by look for cattails (bulrushes)
the long grass like stems can be bunched together tied and repeated to make loft ( loft is when you make space between you and the cold ground that traps warm air ) find and cut the longest stems to form bundles about 6 inches round make four of five of these then tie together to form a mattest then cover with ripe pollen from the cattail or if you have a poncho or tarp close off ends and fill with cattail pollen for a feather like bed that will keep you warm on the coldest of nights.
In the morning if you have used cattail polllen take some pollen add water and clean wood ash and mix to form a dough like mix and bake on a stick for your morning meal.
